Hey Aedes Ladies and other mosquito-gals!
It’s #NationalFlirtingWeek and the perfect time to think about finding that “superman to sweep [you] off [your] feet!”
It’s time to shop around a bit, but Buyer Beware! There is a lot of false advertising! And while humans tip ‘n toss, “I toss and turn and dream of what I need!” Bottom line, ladies, don’t be fooled!
Here are some warning tips that will get you closer to finding your heroic bug:
- Does he have a little too much wear and tear around the edges? Watch out for those Wolbachia-laced Lotharios. I mean, come on, girls! Can you spell “cytoplasmic incompatibility?” Neither can I … Definitely a pass!
- Watch out for mosquito-eaters, Aedes Ladies! We are out and about during the day and that makes us a target for robber flies, dragon flies, and birds! Yes, there really ARE monsters! It’s a big scary world out there. Stay safe, ladies!
- One piece of good news: Contrary to the rumors about our larger, look-alikes – the Crane Flies – they are harmless, gentle giants. No! They do not eat mosquitoes! Don’t tell the humans, though, they mistake crane flies for mosquitoes and STRIKE them! Oh well, better their death than ours …
